Get your ears and favorite art-making materials ready to honor Tomie dePaola, a well-known, award-winning children’s book author and illustrator from New Hampshire, who passed away in March.

Inspired by this past Monday’s Valley News article, “Art In Your Yard event aims to honor Tomie dePaola“, by Kelly Burch, first published by Granite State News Collaborative on May 24, 2020, we are bringing the concept to the upper reaches of the Upper Valley. The article describes the pleasure of making art especially during this time in our homes and our yards.

This Saturday, May 30, 2020, at 10:00AM, join us virtually at Orford Social Library’s Facebook Live for a reading of two of Tomie dePaolo’s books and the opportunity to make art in your own yard.

Get out your pencils, pens, markers and/or paints, and paper of your choice. Listen to the story and make art!

The video will be posted for about a month, so you can also watch the video at another time.
