CCL Weekly Update – 7/31/2020

Keep on Keeping on

by Michael Sage

We’ve all had times, when the going gets tough

The smooth ride suddenly feels bumpy and rough.

The good times are gone, it’s all rather gruff…

You let out a sigh and exclaim – “I’ve had enough” .

We are all entitled at times, to gripe and to moan,

What’s happened to my life, you say with a groan?

My backpack seems weighed down, by a very big stone…

How do I move away from this miserable zone?

When a curved ball hits you, through a trick or a con Remember the good days, when the sun always shone.

Go forward with the belief that you already have won….

The best advice I can give, is to keep on – keeping on.

——————————————————————-

A reminder, this bright morning … we’re hanging in there. Let’s continue to listen to each other with open minds and caring hearts. With this respectful and conscientious attitude, we’ll “keep on keeping on….” through this strange curve in our world.

As always, there are some important events and fun activity options listed after this message. For more, take a look at the Lyme Events Calendar online, being updated with new events all the time.

Wishing you strength and wellness.

With Love,  Patty

Don’t Forget:

Mask Up, Lyme:

Mine’s for You, Yours is for Me … Let’s keep the virus out of Lyme and stay safe for school (and so much more we’re eager to get back to normal.) The Select Board held a listening session yesterday. Next Thursday they’ll be discussing ordinance and resolution options (among other approaches) to encourage mask wearing. Please join in!

Stay Cool. (Click on this link for our post with heat safety information and resources)

Call us at 795-0603 if you are finding it hard to beat the heat. Maybe visit the tents outside the Library or the umbrella table and chairs on the shaded side of the Academy Building.

We are here for you.

Coming up this next week:

More and more is opening up for us to enjoy – both out “in the world” and from home. As you start getting out and about, please be thoughtful about how to keep yourself and others safe and healthy. Wear a mask when you are in public. Continue to keep a safe distance. Stay home if you are sick at all. Check out the growing listing of events on the Lyme Events Calendar online. We invite you to let us know about other things you think we should share. Following are just a few highlights.

Don’t miss:

*NOTE: For any event that’s not online, please be prepared with a mask and clean hands or clean gloves.
