A Major Fundraising Event
Proceeds go to the haven
There will be around twenty-five vendors and a wild variety high-quality crafts, including a raffle for a Matt Brown woodblock print!
There is no admission fee, but attendees are strongly encouraged to purchase raffle tickets.
So please shop local on Black Friday (and Saturday)!
The event started over twenty-five years ago with the making of milkweed pod Christmas ornaments by church members, hence the name, Pods for the Pulpit. We stopped making the ornaments some years ago, as they were too labor intensive, and we felt we’d saturated the market. We’ve stuck with the name, despite no more actual “pods,” because it has become so recognizable in the Upper Valley.
We try to have our crafters remain at the same level of expertise as those who have been juried into the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen. Ours are professional craftspeople.
We like to think of the fair as an alternative to Black Friday. Plus it’s a community-building/involving event, and earns money for a local charity. This year The Haven will be the recipient of proceeds from Pods.
