Christmas Market with a Difference
At the Church of Christ at Dartmouth College
For 35 years, the Christmas Market With a Difference at the Church of Christ at Dartmouth College has offered handcrafted treasures and fair trade goods from around the world.
Items include apparel, accessories, baskets, jewelry, linens, clothing, toys, ornaments, home and holiday decor, and specialty foods.
The “difference” between this and many other holiday markets is that all of the proceeds (except from Market Café sales) are returned to the artisans who produce the goods and the organizations representing them.
The market has raised more than $1.5 million since its inception in 1987, helping to provide living wages to many artisans, and lifting up families and communities in some of the poorest areas of the world.
Participating organizations this year include Association for Craft Producers (Nepal), Church World Service, Circus Zambia, Cocoa Farming Futures Initiative (Grenada), Koinonia Farm, Mil Milagros (Guatemala), Q’ewar Project (Peru), SERRV, UNICEF, and Zienzele Foundation (Zimbabwe).
Market hours are Friday, Nov. 4, from 10 am to 6 pm, and Saturday, Nov. 5, from 10 am to 3 pm.
