What: “Healthy Schools International: Exploring Connections Between Middle School Students in Lyme, New Hampshire and Amman, Jordan”
During the 2016-2017 school year, middle school students at the Lyme School had the opportunity to meet middle schoolers from Amman, Jordan, including students who are Syrian refugees. The exchange was conducted via live video chat, and allowed the students to talk about a variety of health-related topics–after having prep sessions on the topic. Dr. Amer Al-Nimr, Pediatric Gastroenterologist, and Director, Global Child Health Program at CHaD, helped provide cultural and health context for the Lyme students.
This program was made possible with support from the Lyme Foundation, Global Child Health Center at the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth, The Lyme School, and the Welcoming All Nationalities Network of the Upper Valley. Please contact Kate Semple Barta kate.s.barta @ uppervalleywann.o
