May is: National Physical Fitness & Sports Month

AND Get Caught Reading Month

CommunityCare of Lyme is celebrating by posting a book inspired sport or a sport that inspired a book!

This week’s unique sport is Burro Racing, which helped inspire the book Running with Sherman by Christopher McDougall. In this account of his experience with a rescue donkey named Sherman, Chris talks about the origins and unique challenges that arise in training and competing in the unique sport of burro racing. The video shared below from Lancaster online offers some insight into their experience.

The video below from Salomon TV highlights elite athletes preparing for a burro race in Colorado. Hear their story, and enjoy a few laughs too!
