NEW! Food Waste Drop Off Program in Lebanon

From the Town of Lebanon website

The newest waste diversion program at the Lebanon Solid Waste Facility is the Food Waste Drop-Off Program. Your food scraps will be composted and used onsite for erosion control. This activity helps avoid the use of virgin soil products and has a huge benefit in landfill capacity.

Here’s how it works:

  • Purchase a Compost Permit at the Solid Waste Facility. The cost for one year of food scrap drop-off is One Punch Card ($15 … Click here for information about punch cards and permits.). Download and complete the permit application and bring it with you to the Solid Waste Facility. Download the permit application (PDF).
  • The permit should be placed on your food scrap bin and remain there for the year.
  • Dispose of all acceptable food waste in compostable bags that can be purchased from local retailers or online.
  • Bring the bags to the specific Food Waste Drop Off area at the Solid Waste Facility located near the trash drop off area.

Your participation in this program helps reduce the amount of waste going to landfills and improves the environment.
