Fall Fun

We gathered in person in the CCL Living Room!

We talked about recipes, memories, and hopes associated with Autumn. Two poems were shared and read aloud: ”The Owl and the Pussy Cat” by Edward Lear (read it here), and “A Song for Autumn” by Mary Oliver (read it here).

We shared snacks!

We enjoyed homemade doughnuts and an apple galette along with warm, mulled, apple cider.

The conversation was lively and uplifting, filled with ideas for more fun in community.

We would like to begin a cooking adventure together, and we’d like to start with learning how to make doughnuts, then apple galette, soup, and possibly spätzle. We looked at some pretty autumn leaves, noticing their beautiful colors. We appreciated a homemade birch bark basket that one participant had made. Ladders in Plymouth, NH was highly recommended for second hand shopping. The TV series Ted Lasso and The Morning Show were recommended. We spoke of cooking with grandmothers, cooking hints, old metal cookie cutters in the shape of a child on the potty, art, ethics, and Native Americans. A full and beautiful conversation.

Everyone is welcome to join us for Our Hour. We gather by Zoom the second Tuesday of each month at 10:30am. Our gathering at the CCL Living Room in the Lyme Center Academy Building is usually the third Wednesday of the month.
