In the News: Soroush Vosoughi
In a story on the rise of chatbots, the computer science professor talks to
Communications of the ACM about his research to counter potentially antisocial
text generated by artificial intelligence. “We develop models that can sit on

More about the program:
Artificial Intelligence, or AI, has been around for decades, but with the advent of Chat GPT and similar applications, the speed at which AI is expanding and becoming a part of our daily lives is increasing exponentially. Join us to learn more about what these changes are and their possible implications for us, both as individuals and as a society.
David Kotz, PhD, Dartmouth College Provost and Professor of Computer Science, will give us a high-level overview of the history and current state of Artificial Intelligence. Following Dr. Kotz’s remarks, Soroush Vosoughi, PhD, Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Dartmouth, will share with us the work he and his colleagues are doing with AI and his thoughts about its practical applications. We will have ample time for questions and answers at the end of the joint presentation.
This program is being presented live and in-person. It will not be recorded, so please plan ahead to attend.
