This world-celebrated Native American leader and his son, Rex, will be talking about the origins and deep cultural meaning of LACROSSE, the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) medicine game, and how it relates to indigenous rights, environmental protection and peace. Chief Lyons, Faith Keeper for the Turtle Clan of the Onondaga Nation, is a scholar, artist, international activist leader and member of the Lacrosse Hall of Fame. He recently celebrated his 92nd birthday. Rex is a renowned former player and coach of the Haudenosaunee Nationals Lacrosse team and a leader in the effort to make lacrosse an Olympic sport.
