Second Saturday Contradance
8:00 pm at Tracy Hall, Norwich, VT
(200 Main Street, we enter through the back doors by the White Church)
…are you Curious about Contradancing? See Below**
– Norwich will remember David as an elementary school teacher (his “Odyssey” projects were something else!)
– Lebanon will remember the pies (oh, and David as well) from his annual spring PTO dance (with pie auction!)
To say that David is *immersed* in dancing would be something of an understatement…
He’s been calling dances – around here, around the country, and he leads dance trips to Europe – for forty years.
He’s produced documentary films about legendary figures in the traditional dance community – sharing their individual story, along with a chance to look at the history and development of social dancing.
Find out more, sign up for his e-notices, and see his dance calendar at: https://davidmillstonedance. com/
Music this evening by Tom Moreau (fiddle) and Gordon Peery (keyboard). Tom is one-half of the group Gypsy Minor, and we’re delighted to welcome him back.
Gordon Peery is one of *the* most-dynamic keyboard players you’d want to meet. He has an exceptional, dance-able rhythm technique.
Admission is $12, $8 for students and under 16 are FREE!
Coming Up: New Year’s Eve (Dec 31st): music by Red Dog Riley, calling by Nils Fredland
Red Dog Riley is from Western VT, and they’ll rock the room with their “Old Time music with a Yankee accent”

Contradances are a bit like a square dance, but done in long lines.
You dance with your partner, and your “opposite”. After 32 bars of toe-tapping music, you move on to a new “opposite” couple.
Dance figures include turn by the hand, do-si-do, weave, and swing. You’ll figure it out….
Caller David Millstone will lead the dance, teaching folks the pattern, and walking-through the dance figures.
Then, the LIVE MUSIC starts up and we’re all dancing~!
No experience necessary. Beginners and singles always welcome. All dances first taught, then called.
7:45 pm – walk-through for new dancers – the first dances are the simplest, so come early if you’re new to this
