Lyme Historians Annual Meeting
May 7, 2023 @3:00 pm
After a quick bit of business, Lyme local, Stephen Alden, will give a talk and demonstration of LIDAR.
LIDAR, which stands for Light Detection and Ranging, is a remote sensing method that uses light in the form of a pulsed laser to measure ranges (variable distances) to the Earth. Lidar is a way to “see” stone walls and cellar holes through the forest canopy.
In his talk, entitled Lidar – Shedding Light on New Hampshire’s (and Lyme’s) Past, Stephen will share lidar images from all around the state that tell an amazing story and reveal much about New Hampshire’s geologic as well as cultural history. This is an amazing opportunity to see how this technology works and what it can show you about the land around you.
Membership information (including renewals) will also be available.
