Hosting a hybrid in person/remote meeting in the past has been difficult, but I think we can make this work with everyone’s patience.  The Board has made efforts over the past several months to open the meetings to the public, the intent to hold this meeting in person was not to closing it off to others. Once it became clear that so many intended to attend it became clear that a remote option was necessary.   

I can speak personally to the challenge of holding meetings in which people are separated via technology.  It is often fraught with misunderstanding and misinterpretations.  This is not a reflection on the board, it is a reflection on the conditions that a pandemic has us operating in– as a community, as families, as a schools, and as a society.

As we seek to resolve issues that have arisen, we are better off when we don’t contribute to creating new ones.  

Like all of you, I am tired of COVID, and tired of the collateral impact it is having on people, and on our community and school.  We need to create opportunities where people can address issues, work to resolve them, and make the effort to restore what has been lost.  Each time we speak to each other there is an opportunity for this to occur.  We have another opportunity Tuesday, let’s make the most of it.
