Alan Pesky speaks about his memoir, More To Life Than More. Joined by coauthor Claudia Aulum, Alan will share the story of the loss of his son Lee at age 30 to brain cancer — the child with whom he had the most challenging relationship, and who had learning disabilities at a time when they were poorly understood. Following Lee’s death, Alan founded the non-profit Lee Pesky Learning Center to help children in a way he and his wife weren’t able to help Lee. Alan and Claudia will discuss the challenges of parenting a child with learning disabilities, channeling grief for a larger purpose, and misunderstanding those we love. As first-time authors, they’ll also talk about their unusual writing collaboration.
