The Rivendell Academy Players have been busy preparing their fall production of “The Tales From the Arabian Nights”. With 15 cast members from grades 7-12 and several tech students, they are planning a fun for the whole family show which will take place under tents in the Rivendell Academy fields. The play will be shown on Thursday, November 11th at 7:00, Friday, November 12th at 1:00 and 7:00, and Saturday, November 13th at 7:00. Tickets will be $5.00 per student and $12 per adult.

The Sultan (Andrew Williams), bewitched by a magic scimitar, decrees he will marry a new bride every evening and chop off her head the next morning. To save her neck, clever Scheherazade (Alice Craft) tells her husband a tale which isn’t quite completed by the dawn’s early light so he postpones the execution a day. Scheherazade keeps up this parade of stories for a thousand and one nights, finally winning him away from the scimitar’s evil spell. As Scheherazade tells each tale, an ensemble cast including Greta Johnson, Lila Jones, Sophie Jones, Eli Mansur, Astasia Nunn, Ayre Nunn, Cleo Stanton-Pierce, Joseph Thibeault, Zoe Thurston, Liba Vitols, Lila Waxman and Ava Welch, act out the stories. Directed by Anna Alden, with Technical Director Cami Buster with Devica Tarmey, Sophia LaRoux, Ben Perreault, Abigail Taylor, Jonny Hayward, Willow Wilson   and Costume Designer Andi Herrington.

This production has a playful approach to these classic tales and will be a treat for the entire family.

So don’t miss the fun! Thursday, November 11th at 7:00, Friday, November 12th at 1:00 and 7:00 pm, and Saturday, November 13th at 7:00. Tickets will be $5.00 per student and $12 per adult. For questions please call 603-353-4321 x 1101
