Vermont Abenaki Artist Association and National Park staff in a celebration of Indigenous Peoples Day

Abenakis will facilitate discussions about Indigenous land management practices, conservation issues, and cultural continuity on this land. Visitors can follow a trail to learn Abenaki words that describe the forest.

As part of the event, join a Park Ranger for a guided hike that focuses on Abenaki Land Management Practices. The hikes will include conversation on cooperation in ecosystems, reciprocity between species, and the importance of caring for Land and Water. Please call 802-457-3368 ext. 0 to sign up for a guided hike. Spots are limited to 16 people each.

*   Abenaki Land Stewardship Guided Hike #1 – 11am-12pm, 1.5 miles
*   Abenaki Land Stewardship Guided Hike #2 – 1:30pm-3:30pm, 2.5 miles (includes off-trail hiking)
