Cabin Fever blues? We got the cure! Thanks to Fairlee Community Arts, there’s gonna be a Mardi Gras Dance Party in Fairlee Town Hall on Saturday, Feb. 23, 6:00-8:30 pm, featuring New Orleans-style music by the Rusty Berrings Brass Band and Shayne Brunet’s authentic New Orleans cuisine! R.B.B.B.’s preparing a tasty blend of New Orleans brass band standards & originals that, along with Shayne Brunet’s incredible food, will send your cabin fever packin’ & make you feel good all over!
The Rusty Berrings Brass Band was formed in Fall 2017, when Buddy Kirschner asked Don Glasgo to put a brass band together for the Grand Opening of Rusty Berrings Skatepark (Lebanon, NH) in memory of Buddy’s son, Tyler (also known as ‘Rusty Berrings’). Don had already talked with talented drummer, Chad Brunet, about starting a brass band– Don and Chad are co-leaders of the R.B.B.B.—and they soon added the other members of the group: Michael Geilich (tenor & soprano saxophones), Josh Stumpff (tenor saxophone & lead vocals), Mike Conerty (trumpet), Danielle Conerty (trombone) and Jonathan Myers (sousaphone).
Shayne Brunet was born and raised in New Orleans. Her family has a successful restaurant and catering business which has been around since 1992, and they’ve been one of the top New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival food caterers for the past 20 years! Shayne specializes in New Orleans culinary cuisine and has catered a variety of events through her own New England-based business, Ertie’s catering. Shayne’s very excited to be serving some of her favorite New Orleans-inspired food at the Mardi Gras Dance Party February 23rd: chicken and smoked sausage jambalaya and an authentic crawfish pasta! Dessert will showcase her family’s traditional bread pudding with whiskey sauce.
Fairlee Town Hall is located at 75 Town Common Road in Fairlee, VT. For ticket information, please go to “Fairlee Community Arts” and click on ”Mardi Gras Party February 23!” Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door.
