“Outlooks in Oil, Work by Upper Valley Painters”

Oil is an amazing and powerful medium for developing ideas with paint. Substrate (hard panel, canvas, linen) makes a difference, as do other attributes: interest, aptitude, energy and outlook of the painter, vagaries of the way the pigments interact with each other in the oil medium, subject matter, use of the brush, feelings for the colors. The goal of this show is to offer a variety of voices, to build an interesting selection of talented and fascinating approaches to this medium.
