The Utility Club is creating a demonstration Pollinator Garden at Chaffee in Lyme

Please join us Saturday morning to learn about starting a pollinator garden and help The Utility Club  start our demonstration garden at Chaffee Nature Preserve.

From Lynn’s email to the Lyme Listserv:

Alicia Houck will join us at 9am to give a short talk about the importance of creating pollinator habitat and how to get started.

Then you can help us get started on ours. Our first step is to cover the garden plot with cardboard and straw to kill the grasses and unwanted plants.

Please bring gloves and energy.

If you have a truck and would be willing to pick up cardboard to bring to Chaffee , please meet at the Horsesheds in Lyme at 8:30am.

We hope you will join us for this event.  The garden is not all that big, but we hope it will be powerful in educating our community about the beauty and importance of creating pollinator habitat in our community.
