This dynamic presentation introduces current substance use trends among Vermont youth, provides tools for participants to detect when people are using substances, and encourages an easily digested road map to intercede when use is detected. There will be plenty of opportunities for questions and good conversation.

Speaker Sgt. Jay Riggen is an 18-year veteran with the Vermont State Police (VSP) and an award-winning, internationally-credentialed, and state certified Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) and DRE Instructor. He presents both statewide and regionally on issues related to drug and alcohol impairment trends, symptomatology, and early intervention.
